Minister of Youth meets with Assistant Secretaries-General at the United Nations.

On the sidelines of the Ministerial Youth Forum held by the Economic and Social Council for the year 2024 at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, Minister of Youth Mr. Fathallah Al-Zeni met yesterday evening, Tuesday, with the Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs at the United Nations, Mr. Philip Pooleir, and the Deputy Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Ms. Din Kita.

During the meeting, discussions were held about the supportive stance of the Government of National Unity for youth efforts in promoting peace and security, particularly focusing on the Youth Peace and Security Nucleus Program organized by the Ministry of Youth. Additionally, the ministry organized several workshops and training sessions on this topic. Minister Al-Zeni also chaired a dialogue session with participants in the Foundation Coalition Program for Youth, Peace, and Security.

Furthermore, the Minister of Youth presented an overview of the experience in supporting youth participation in local decision-making through launching elections for youth local councils, resulting in the election of 85 local youth councils across various Libyan cities.
