The youth discussed ways to activate the memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq.

This morning, Saturday, June 1, 2024, Minister of Youth Fatah Allah al-Zini met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarak, at the Ministry of Youth in the capital, Tripoli, on the sidelines of the events of Tripoli, the Capital of Arab Youth for the year 2024. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the High Committee for Events and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association.

During the meeting, discussions were held on ways to activate the memorandum of cooperation signed between the two ministries in early February of this year in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The memorandum aims to elevate the field of youth work in both countries by benefiting from their experiences in youth issues and affairs, enhancing youth capacities in scientific, cultural, and artistic fields. It also emphasizes the importance of launching youth exchange programs between local youth councils in Libya and advisory youth councils in Iraq, as well as twinning youth organizations and transferring studies and research related to the youth sector. This joint effort between the two countries is part of establishing a sound youth base and addressing the dangers that hinder their contribution to sustainable and effective development in the Arab world in general.

Minister Al-Zini expressed his happiness at the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq accepting the invitation to participate in the opening of the events of Tripoli, the Capital of Arab Youth for 2024.

Dr. Al-Mubarak expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Youth of the Government of National Unity and the State of Libya for extending the invitation, hospitality, and reception, as well as for organizing the prominent event taking place in the capital, Tripoli, during these days.
