The celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Arab Union of Youth Hostels, and the conclusion of the "Dar Darek" program at Khums Youth Hostel.
On the occasion of celebrating fifty years since the establishment of the Arab Union of Youth Hostels, a grand celebration was held at Khums Youth Hostel under the organization and supervision of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association, as part of the events of Tripoli, the Capital of Arab Youth 2024.
The event was attended by a group of officials and youth leaders from various Arab countries, including His Excellency the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Abdul Latif Al-Zini, and the Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports, Hazar Abdul Rasoul, as well as the President of the Arab Union of Youth Hostels, the Director of Ceremonies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mayor of Khums, and the heads of youth hostels associations from several countries.
Mr. Al-Shebani Abdullah Al-Shebani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association, delivered a speech praising the pioneering role of the Arab Union in embracing youth talents and developing their skills, affirming the association's pride in hosting this important event and its commitment to enhancing partnerships among Arab associations in various fields.
Mr. Fathallah Al-Zini also delivered a speech in which he emphasized the ministry's efforts to support Libyan and Arab youth and enhance cooperation among them, under the auspices of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Engineer Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba.
During the ceremony, the Union's journey over half a century was reviewed, highlighting its achievements in strengthening cooperation and connectivity among Arab youth. Additionally, documentary videos were presented, highlighting the achievements of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association and its presence in all corners of the country, including remote areas, along with showcasing inspiring success stories of youth who benefited from the programs and initiatives organized by the association.
Moreover, the Arab Union presented the "Giving" medal to both the Minister of Youth, Mr. Fathallah Al-Zini, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Youth Hostels Association, Mr. Al-Shebani Abdullah, in recognition of their contributions.
At the end of the ceremony, pioneers of youth work and founders of the Arab Union of Youth Hostels were honored, as well as the participating youth delegations in the "Dar Darek" program, amid celebratory atmospheres confirming the depth of fraternal ties among Arab youth and the importance of pooling efforts to empower and support them in achieving their aspirations for a better future.
