The opening of the events of Tripoli as the Capital of Arab Youth 2024.

The opening ceremony of Tripoli as the capital of Arab Youth 2024 took place on Friday evening, May 31, 2024, at the Rexos Hall Complex in the capital, Tripoli. The event was attended by Mr. Abdullah Al-Lafi, Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, the Minister of Youth, Mr. Fatah Allah Al-Zini, and his deputy Mr. Al-Shibani Abdullah, as well as delegations from the Arab League and the guest of honor, the President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in Palestine. Also present were ministers of youth and sports from participating countries, several ministers and deputies from the Government of National Unity, the President of the Arab Union for Youth Hostels Associations and its Secretary-General, and the Technical Committee of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council, along with various diplomatic missions.

During his speech, the Minister of Youth welcomed attendees from across the Arab world to Tripoli, emphasizing that these activities are part of the Ministry's efforts to support Arab youth activities and networking among Arab youth. He stressed that through organizing such events, the Ministry sends a message that life has returned to Libya's youth sector.

The opening ceremony featured various speeches expressing Arab solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause. The visual presentations and artistic performances showcased the cultural and historical diversity of our beloved homeland. Additionally, there were displays demonstrating Libyan youth solidarity and unity in addressing the aftermath of the floods in Derna.

One of the highlights was a hologram presentation of Sheikh Omar Mukhtar, the symbol of martyrdom and jihad, urging Arab youth to stand united against aggression on Palestine. The "Medal of Giving" was awarded to the late Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Sha'ary, former Director of Youth and Sports Administration at the Arab League, in recognition of his efforts to support youth projects in the Arab region.

Furthermore, the handing over of the key to Tripoli as the Capital of Arab Youth 2024 by the Arab League to Minister Fatah Allah Al-Zini marked the official start of the city's events. The Ministry of Youth in the Government of National Unity unveiled the emblem for Tripoli as the Capital of Arab Youth, represented by the figure of the Libyan knight. Additionally, they announced the issuance of a postage stamp by Mr. Abdullah Al-Lafi, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council. The Ministry also launched the #Faail platform to cover all major and accompanying events.
