"The fourth meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Sahel and Sahara Countries has commenced."

Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Engineer Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, inaugurated the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Sahel and Sahara Countries on Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024, in the capital, Tripoli, accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Mr. Adu Al-Hajji, and the Minister of Youth, Mr. Fathallah Al-Zani. The meeting also included the participation of ministers of youth and sports from member countries.

In his opening speech at the meeting, Al-Hajji praised the efforts of the Government of National Unity to restore the role of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States regionally and internationally, and its hosting of numerous meetings, programs, and events contributing to activating the community in all its components. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Youth to host the activities of the fourth session.

In his opening remarks, Al-Dabaiba expressed full support for the outcomes and results of the fourth regular meeting of youth ministers, emphasizing the role of African youth in supporting issues of common interest, particularly the just cause of the Palestinian people. He praised the African youth's support for the Palestinian cause at all stages, highlighting the Government of National Unity's commitment to the interests of our brothers in the Community of Sahel-Saharan States. He mentioned the recent crises in Niger and Sudan, where the Government of National Unity mediated to halt the fighting among brothers and sisters and alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis, contributing to aiding affected families and displaced persons from conflict areas.

Furthermore, Minister of Youth, Mr. Fathallah Al-Zani, chaired the session, presenting the agenda for the fourth session of the meeting, including the establishment of a Youth Union within the CEN-SAD community, as well as a youth center, along with several other items related to youth issues in the member countries.
