Libya Independence Anniversary – December 24

On this day in 1951, Libya achieved its independence, marking the culmination of decades of struggle and resistance against colonialism, and in response to the United Nations resolution issued on November 21, 1949. This historic event signaled the birth of the modern Libyan state and opened the door to freedom and sovereignty for its noble people.

Today, as we commemorate the seventy-third anniversary of this great national achievement, the Libyan Youth Hostel Association extends its warmest congratulations to all Libyans, praying to Almighty God to protect our beloved homeland and to sustain it with the blessings of independence, freedom, security, and stability.

May Libya remain free and proud, and may its youth continue to be a source of strength and hope.
